![]() Then activate him again and find Hermit Druid. With enough mana available, activate him on the end step of the opponent before you, and fetch Quirion Ranger, using its ability to untap Yisan. In addition to this however, he also provides a way to win quickly. Note that many of those also work with the Green Sun's Zenith, if it doesn't just find Yisan. Speaking of Yisan, he plays his usual role as value engine very well, finding mana dorks, protection with Spellskite or Glen Elendra Archmage, answers with Reclamation Sage and Scavenging Ooze, recursion with Eternal Witness, Snapcaster Mage, and a way to get Lab Man out of exile with Riftsweeper. I play all of the wheels that I thought were efficient enough for a competitive list, as well as Jace's Archivst which usually isn't, but makes a nice 3 drop for Yisan to fetch if he isn't going for Lab Man. This is fueled by a mana dork package consisting of creatures that tap for non-green mana, to ensure no colour screw issues, as well as the best low cmc mana rocks that fit my plan (I am not playing Mana Vault partly because of my colour requirements and partly because I'm not trying to ramp to anything huge). The ideal play for the deck is turn 1 or 2 Leovold, followed by a wheel the turn after. Not unrealistic for someone to find, but since you'll be drawing a normal amount of cards, hopefully you have a counter for when they do. ![]() Meaning if both pieces resolve, the only chance of breaking the lock is instant speed removal in response to the Box trigger. Each opponent will draw for turn, and then tuck their hand, drawing nothing. A non-Lab Man way to effectively end a game is to stick Leovold and Teferi's Puzzle Box. Or you can cast Tainted Pact and exile your library. You can activate Hermit Druid and mill your library while Lab Man is in play. You can use the standard Doomsday pile of LED, YawgWill, Lab Man, Gush, cantrip with a draw spell in hand. The deck has a few different ways to win, but almost all of them rely on Laboratory Maniac. Rather than racing for a kill, I chose to take advantage of the powerful controlling midrange options offered by BUG, and in a deck that isn't really bothered by graveyard hate, unlike the common Reanimator BUG builds. I went all in on the "he protects lab man and works with wheels" plan, but in a different manner than Storm. So I decided to go a different direction with this list. ![]() But with Jeleva and Zur, we already have a choice between 2 powerful Stormy Lab Man based generals, and I found my Leovold builds were very similar to those 2 established decks. He works well with the wheels that Storm decks play anyways, and he protects Lab Man. A lot of those builds have been Storm or Storm-like, which makes sense. Since Leovold was spoiled, many builds have been popping up around him. If your meta/league has custom rules or bans we ask that you move your requests to /r/EDH instead. Please use the Magic Judges chat to ask about rules and card interactions. List any experience (if any) you've had with the deck.īe respectful of all suggestions and criticisms. Include the deck's main goal and how it gets there. Include commanders, strategies, wincons, or if you are going into a blind meta. If you cannot afford a bunch of cards all at once feel free to ask which suggestions you should prioritize getting first.
